Children's Home Ministry
Today our mission to host children’s homes has not changed one bit! Every year we have as our guests twelve to fifteen children’s homes. We roll out the red carpet to each group so that they have the time of their lives. These groups stay in our dorms for free and we are able to do many activities with them such as taking them to the Carolina Opry, Wild-Water and Wheels, Wonderworks, and the Ripley’s Aquarium. We treat them to ice cream and drinks daily from the Sea Shack, as well as giving each child a Chapel t-shirt. We also provide some of their meals.
How are we able to do all this? One way is from the groups visiting our retreat center. Sitting on the counters in every dormitory kitchen on campus are boxes labeled “Children’s Home Box.” While a church group is here on retreat, they are challenged to drop coins and dollars into this box. All money collected is counted, and every group is given credit for the amount of money received in their box. Posted in every dorm are the groups that made our Top 20 list in children’s homes contributions. One hundred percent of this money is spent on underprivileged children.

The second way is from donations from people who hear about this ministry and want to partner with us. Thank you to all who make it possible for us to continue our ministry with children’s homes!
