About the Role
At Garden City Chapel & Retreat, our mission is to glorify Christ in all we do. As part of the Summer Staff team, you’ll play a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring our campus is ready to serve church groups and their participants.
Unlike a traditional camp counselor role, our Summer Staff work to support groups who bring their own leaders, music, and programming. Your focus will be on creating an environment that allows guests to encounter Christ. By fulfilling your responsibilities with excellence, you’ll teach and model the love of Jesus to everyone you interact with.
To be eligible for a Summer Staff position, you must:
- Be at least a rising high school senior, high school graduate, or current college/graduate student.
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to grow spiritually.
- Possess integrity, good moral character, and emotional maturity.
- Be in good physical health, willing to accept responsibility, and able to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities
Summer Staff roles encompass a variety of tasks, including:
- Yard and building maintenance
- Housekeeping
- Assisting in the snack bar and pool areas
- Campus security
Ministry Opportunities:
In addition to operational duties, you’ll have the chance to:
- Share your testimony
- Lead devotions and worship
- Serve at “The Gathering”
- Engage in one-on-one spiritual conversations with students and adults on campus

Work Schedule
- Weekly Schedule: Includes varied tasks, with 1.5 days off per week (1 full weekday and a half day on Sunday).
- Time Off: One full weekend off during the summer.
- Orientation: A detailed personal summer schedule will be provided during orientation.
